WTAAA Scholarship Guidelines

2he scholarship competition is open to all TAAA members and family members, Allied Industry Members and family members, as well as to non-family members of both of these members as long as they are sponsored by a current TAAA or Allied Industry member. To qualify, dues of the members must be paid by the organization or individual member on or before January 31, 2022.

Entrants must have or will be graduating from high school prior to the award date (May 30, 2022) and be enrolled in continuing education during the year of entry. Entrants who also qualify are ANY student, current or future, who will be enrolling in any collegiate institution, a technical school, any higher educational course programs, or other continuing education courses. Please note, if you have entered the contest before but have not been a winner you ARE still eligible to enter again and every year until you are a winner.

Deadline is April 30, 2022, the entry must be postmarked no later than this date to be accepted. Essays must be 1,500 words or less. Topic is “The Importance of Agricultural Aviation” Papers submitted will be judged on content, theme development, clarity, originality, and proper use of grammar. All sources used must be citied. Plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification. Entries must be typewritten and double-spaced.

To ensure that the judges will not know the identities of the writers, keep any reference to the author’s name, sponsoring company and company location out of the essay itself. However, a title page should be attached with the entrant’s name, address, telephone number and sponsors name if applicable. All essays become property of the WTAAA. The judges’ decision is final. In the event the entries received lack outstanding merit, the WTAAA reserves the right not to award the scholarship(s).

There will be two recipients, the amount is $2,000 per scholarship winner. The winner(s) will be notified by phone and will be recognized at the 2023 TAAA Annual Convention as well as their local scholarship/awards night if applicable to the winner and we are notified in time to present.
